Using the expertise gained while upgrading radio stations over decades, the management team developed the concept of segmenting major markets into geographically defined zones and formed GeoBroadcast Solutions in 2009 to bring this concept to the marketplace.
The GBS ZoneCasting System allows FM radio broadcast signals to be periodically separated into several geographic Zones within their main FCC legal Contour.
These “Zones” can be various geographic regions of a large metropolitan area, individual markets within a larger market (e.g. San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) or smaller market (e.g. Roanoke/Lynchburg).
ZoneCasting is a single frequency network (SFN) combining FM radio, cell towers and wireless technology to temporarily separate the main broadcast signal into separate geographic zones; the zones receive simulcast programming, or they can receive discrete content as determined by the transmitting station on a minute-by-minute basis.
imagine a typical station has about 500 current customers, but there are typically some 2100 unique advertisers in a typical top metro. this geo-targeting opens the market for radio stations to work with local advertisers increasing their customer base by many, potentially hundreds, of new customers. What would an 20% increase of your customer base do for your bottom line?
ZoneCasting is operable on both analog and HD Radio transmitters.
