Little Rock’s KWLR-FM Improving Its Signal

Through MaxxCasting™ Deployment; 4th EMF Station to Strengthen its Audience Reach and Coverage with MaxxCasting

Elgin, IL, July 11, 2023 – Educational Media Foundation radio station KWLR-FM in Little Rock, Ark. (96.9) will significantly improve its signal and expand its audience reach through the deployment of a MaxxCasting™ system from GeoBroadcast Solutions. Operating as part of the K-LOVE network of contemporary Christian music radio stations, KWLR will join three other EMF stations (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles) that have improved its coverage and widened its listener base through more building penetration and seamless mobile reception.

“Much of downtown Little Rock has been receiving a marginal signal from KWLR. The MaxxCasting HD deployment will significantly help us reach the densest part of the market, expand our audience, and improve the listener experience,” said Joe Miller, VP of Signal Development at Educational Media Foundation. “We have been very pleased overall with the successful performance and audience increase in several of our markets where we’ve deployed MaxxCasting and anticipate the same in Little Rock.”

“Part of what our MaxxCasting system will accomplish for KWLR will be to help increase overall coverage, including significantly more building penetration and creating seamless mobile reception,” said Paul Littleton, chief technology officer at GeoBroadcast Solutions.

MaxxCasting combines radio and cellular technology with patented designs that enable FM broadcasters to enhance their signals with the deployment of a strategically located cluster of low-to-the-ground, highly directionalized synchronized booster sites.  MaxxCasting allows broadcasters to deliver robust, easy-to-receive signals that reach a broader portion of their service area, and it supports the accurate decoding of Nielsen PPM watermark to aid in accurate audience measurement.

About GeoBroadcast Solutions LLC

GeoBroadcast Solutions was formed in 2011 to develop the ZoneCasting™ Geo-Targeting platform.  This platform has been successfully tested under special FCC authorization. Geo-Targeted separation of the main channel audio of an FM radio station to its listeners allows the ability to split an FM signal into local “zones.” Out of this development effort came MaxxCasting™, which increases signal quality, PPM watermark decoding, and allows geographic targeting and fencing of radio screen advertising. It is successfully deployed and operational in many markets and growing rapidly. Additional information is available at geobroadcastsolutions.com.
